Froggies Week 4

Another fun-filled week has come and gone with the Froggies! This week, our campers embraced our Monsters vs. Aliens theme with plenty of imagination, laughter, and enthusiasm. From sharing silly jokes to spending time with friends, there was never a dull moment. One of our favourite things to see was the friendships that continue to grow within our unit. Whether campers were including one another in games, sharing materials, or celebrating each other’s successes, they showed that camp is about so much more than the activities – it’s about building a community where everyone belongs.

Our specialist activities kept the Froggies busy all week long! During X Movement, campers challenged themselves with exciting track-and-field style games that had everyone running, jumping, and cheering each other on. In Sports with Jay, they worked together through a variety of active games that encouraged teamwork, communication, and having fun while staying active. Campers also explored the outdoors in Nature with Shimmer, where they created birdseed feeders while learning about the environment and the wildlife that calls it home. No matter where they were, our Froggies gave each activity their best effort and enjoyed learning alongside their friends.

Together as a unit, campers came together for this week’s Ribbit Recess, inspired by our Monsters vs. Aliens theme. Working as one team, the Froggies created a colourful banner using painted handprints, drawings, colouring, and plenty of creativity. Every camper added something unique, resulting in something special that represents our entire unit. It was wonderful watching everyone collaborate, encourage one another, and take pride in creating something together. Activities like these continue to strengthen the friendships and sense of belonging that make the Froggies such a special group.

Congratulations to Emberley (F1) and Cricket for winning this week’s Minute to Win It competition! A special happy birthday also goes out to Nico (F3), who celebrated with the Froggies on Thursday – we hope you had an amazing day! Congratulations as well to our Silly Banana winner, Leo (F3), and to our Big Chair winners, Felix (F1) and Margot (F3). Felix’s determination throughout the week was especially inspiring as he set a goal to earn the Big Chair, sought advice on how to achieve it, and worked hard every day until he accomplished it. We are so proud of all of this week’s winners for the positive example they set within our camp community!

Staff Celebration Moment

This week’s staff shoutout goes to… Glow! Glow is someone who consistently goes above and beyond for both our campers and our staff team. She is incredibly organized, always prepared, and pays attention to even the smallest details to make sure every part of the day runs smoothly. Her communication, responsibility, and thoughtful planning help create an environment where campers can feel safe, supported, and ready to have fun. Beyond that, Glow genuinely cares about every child she meets. She takes the time to make campers feel included, keeps their well-being at the forefront of everything she does, and is always willing to step in wherever she’s needed. Her dedication, reliability, and caring nature make a tremendous difference each day, and the Froggies are incredibly lucky to have her as part of our team!

Caregiver Question of the Week

How does the Tuck shop work?

On a Unit designated Tuck Day, counsellors receive a tuck order form with their attendance. If a child has money in their account, counsellors ask campers to choose from a list of items. Our office packs the tuck and counsellors hand it out at afternoon snacktime!
