What a week it has been at camp! One of my favourite moments happened at the end of the day when I walked out toward the soccer field and saw the whole group spread out, simply enjoying being together. Some campers were playing soccer, others were boondoggling, a group was playing football, and others were sitting together playing card games. There was no big organized activity happening—just campers choosing to spend time together, laughing, playing, and enjoying each other’s company. It was one of those moments that reminds us how special the camp community can be. We saw that same sense of community right from Monday, when everyone jumped into a huge game of Cross Canada and had the chance to meet and get to know one another on the very first day. Seeing the Tigers playing together on the playground throughout the week was another highlight and a great reminder that friendships can grow through the simplest moments.
Our specialist activities were full of creativity this week! In Art, campers created silly and creative self-portraits, giving everyone a chance to put their own personality onto the page. In Drama, they became advertising executives and created commercials for completely imaginary products. It was so much fun seeing where their imaginations took them as they came up with their own products and ideas. CYOA brought one of the sweetest surprises of the week. We celebrated Pylon’s birthday with Zigzag by creating poems for him. But the campers didn’t just hand him their poems; they turned their papers into little pylons and put them on their heads before walking up to surprise him! Pylon was genuinely touched by the thoughtful and hilarious surprise. Campers also took part in Gaga Ball, experimented with paper airplane designs in Science, and tested their creations to see how they would fly. With Fox, they made adorable little fruit basket crafts, adding another creative activity to the week.
Sizzle’s Shenanigans turned the unit into a giant water-filled adventure! Campers rotated through multiple water stations, but the clear favourite was water balloon dodgeball. It was a structured game, which meant campers had to dodge, throw, and keep an eye on what was happening around them while trying not to get hit.
There was plenty of screaming, running, and laughing—and some campers ended up considerably wetter than they expected! One of the funniest moments came when Lucky got completely soaked, giving everyone a good laugh.
The other big hit was Drip Drip Drop, which brought the same kind of excitement and had campers eagerly waiting to see who would get the water. By the end of the day, there were plenty of very wet campers and even more smiles.
We have lots to celebrate from Schmooze this week! A big congratulations to our campers who earned their Turtle Charms for three years at camp: Jacqueline, Mila, Caleb, Aranza, Olivia, Orson, and Cole! We are so lucky to have these returning campers continuing to be such an important part of our camp community. We also want to recognize our five-year campers, Nicole and Joshua! Five years of camp is an incredible milestone, and we are so excited to celebrate everything they have experienced and contributed to over the years. Congratulations to Emma, who took home a Big Chair this week! We also had some Silly Banana celebrations, with Matthew, Leah, Giana, Cole, Caleb, Sofia, and Charlotte earning their spots with great costumes.
Staff Celebration Moment: Fox!
This week’s staff spotlight goes to Fox! Fox brings so much energy and enthusiasm to the unit, and one of the things that makes her such a wonderful counsellor is how naturally she gets involved with the campers.
She is consistently a leader within the unit and is always willing to jump in and help make things happen. She even joined in some Schmooze fun and participated in a staff vs. LIT football game! Campers love how outgoing she is, and she has a wonderful ability to make everyone feel comfortable joining in.
Of course, one of the funniest Fox moments of the week had to be when she jumped into the kiddie pool during water activities. It perfectly captures what campers love about her: she doesn’t just tell them to have fun, she gets right in there and has fun with them

What time does drop off and pick up start and end?
Drop off is from 8:45 – 9:15AM. If you need an earlier drop-off, please register for Extended Care, which starts at 8AM.
Pick Up runs from 3:50 – 4:15PM. If you need a later pick-up, please register for Extended Care, which goes until 5:30PM.
Please note we have a black-out period from 3:15 – 3:50PM. If you would like to pick up your child early, the latest you can do so is 3:15PM. Please let us know ahead of time so we have them ready and waiting for you!
