It’s hard to believe we’ve already hopped into Week 7—where did the summer go? It feels like just yesterday we were welcoming our first Bunnies of the season, and now we’re lacing up for the final stretch. With the sun shining and the temperatures soaring, this week was a real scorcher, but nothing could slow us down. Hydration stations became our best friends, and the sound of water bottles clicking open was almost as common as laughter. Between splashes of water, endless sunscreen reapplications, and a jam-packed schedule, the Bunnies made memories that will have us all feeling like champions for years to come.
This week’s activities were nothing short of gold-medal worthy! In Arts & Crafts, campers became mini treasure hunters, creating their very own sensory “I Spy” jars. They carefully colored their jars, sprinkled in glitter like confetti at a championship parade, and filled them with tiny pom poms and hidden surprises—turning each jar into a pocket-sized world of wonder. Over in Nature, our crafty explorers went leaf-hunting, collecting a variety of shapes and textures. After painting their leafy finds in bright colors, they paired them with sticks wrapped in colorful pipe cleaners, creating whimsical leaf mobiles that swayed in the summer breeze. In Crazy Science, we dove into boat engineering! Using recyclable materials, campers built their own vessels, tested their sea-worthiness with various weights, and ended with a thrilling regatta that had the crowd cheering from shore. We rounded out the week with peaceful yoga stretches and high-energy junior multisport with Juice, keeping everyone active and smiling.
Friday brought one of our favorite camp traditions—Music Fest! As always, it was the perfect way to close out the week with laughter, movement, and community. From the catchy “Yeah Toast” to the silly fun of “Jellyfish” and the classic “Down by the Bay,” the Bunnies sang and danced their way into the weekend. This week also brought a special treat—Julia, one of our talented LITs, stepped up to the mic to lead Princess Pat. Her energy was infectious, her voice rang clear across the crowd, and the campers couldn’t help but clap, sway, and sing along. It was one of those magical camp moments where everyone, from the smallest Bunny to the tallest counselor, felt completely connected through the music.
In Hop Hop Hooray, our Bunny crew got creative with a tye-dye takeover! Each camper chose from eight vibrant colors, carefully twisting, folding, and tying their bandanas to create one-of-a-kind designs. Watching their faces light up when they revealed the final patterns was a gold-medal moment all on its own. Whether it was swirls, stripes, or random splashes, every bandana was as unique as the camper who made it.
This week was packed with heartwarming Bunny spirit. One of the highlights came during Tuesday Trivia—when B2, one of our own Bunny cabins, was announced as co-champions, the entire Bunny unit erupted in cheers. It was a beautiful display of camaraderie, with campers jumping, clapping, and shouting their support. Another unforgettable moment happened during yoga, when one camper wobbled during a tricky balance pose. Without hesitation, their cabinmates formed a supportive circle, offering encouraging words and even holding hands to help steady them. These moments reminded us that being a Bunny means more than just playing and learning—it means lifting each other up, celebrating one another’s victories, and facing challenges together. We’re so proud of the friendships that have grown this summer and the memories that will carry us into next week and beyond.
Our Schmooze sessions were filled with friendly competition and plenty of laughs. Monday kicked things off with a “Minute to Win It” math challenge where camper–counsellor duos raced the clock to answer as many math problems as they could in 60 seconds. The big win went to Pacific from the Kanga unit, proving that quick thinking and teamwork make for an unbeatable combo. On Tuesday, our Trivia showdown tested sports knowledge, and it was a tie for first between a Bunnies cabin and a Kanga cabin! The B2 Bunnies were beaming with pride, knowing their sports smarts paid off. Wednesday Warrior saw an intense Balloon Keep Up battle as Surge (filling in for Moss), Claw, Minnow, and Pacific all fought for their chance to make it to the August 2025 finals—it was edge-of-your-seat entertainment! In the end, it was Surge and Pacific who secured their sports in next week’s finals. Thursday brought a special LIT edition of Schmooze, with our Leaders in Training running the show. They organized a counsellor vs. LIT competition featuring three challenges—balloon keep up, riddles, and the wet-and-wild over-under soak. The LITs claimed the win, proving they’re well on their way to future championship titles themselves. We ended the week by handing out Big Chairs and Silly Bananas. A big congratulations to our three Silly Banana winners! The costumes this week blew us away with their creativity, energy, and effort. Every Friday, we’re reminded just how much our campers love diving into the spirit of the day, and the Bunnies continue to set the bar high.
Staff Celebration Moment
Our staff celebration spotlight this week shines on the amazing Lilo. We are beyond grateful she decided to return to camp this summer! A beloved Bunny counsellor in past years, Lilo brings an unbeatable mix of enthusiasm, creativity, and care to everything she does. Whether she’s leading an activity, helping a camper one-on-one, or cheering from the sidelines, her positivity is contagious. The Bunnies light up when she’s around, and her knack for making each camper feel seen and valued is exactly why she’s such a treasured part of our team.
Caregiver Question of the Week
Q: Can I pick up my camper early at 3:30?
A: No — we have a blackout period between 3:15 and 3:55. If you would like to pick up your camper early, please arrive before 3:15. When you get to the west parking lot, give us a call and we’ll bring your camper out to you.
As Week 7 comes to a close, we can’t help but feel a little bittersweet. We’re saying “see you later” to some of our campers and “welcome!” to new friends joining us for our final week. Week 8 promises to be just as exciting, and we can’t wait to finish the summer strong. Until then, here’s to the champions we’ve all become—on and off the field!
Warm Regards,
Frizzle
