Kangas Week 5

The Kangas had another fantastic week here at AV as we jumped into August and Game-On week!

Despite the weather constantly flipping between gloomy skies and bursts of hot sun, the Kangas didn’t miss a beat when it came to outdoor fun. Whether they were soaking up the sunshine or checking the sky for signs of rain, they embraced every moment with big smiles and boundless energy. Rain or shine, the Kangas made the most of every adventure outside!

As per usual, some of the week’s best moments came from the exciting games, crafts, and special activities led by our awesome counselors, keeping the energy high and the fun nonstop!

Arts & Crafts has been a Kangas-favorite all summer long, and it’s easy to see why—they love any excuse to break out the paint, crayons, and their creativity, even if it means getting a little messy!

Whether it’s finger-painting or drawing, there’s always a sense of joy as they dive into their artistic projects. This week, the Kangas took their creativity to the next level by channeling their inner artists—and horticulturalists—when they painted vibrant tulip masterpieces.

They carefully chose their colors and tools to capture the beauty of these flowers in full bloom, and every dip into the paint was a chance to explore their own artistic style. Everyone did a fantastic job and there were so many beautiful pieces!

This week the Kangas showed off their search and rescue skills during Unit Time, where they used pictures and context clues to complete our Game-On scavenger hunt!

Each cabin was assigned a unique game character, and their mission was to solve puzzles and search for key pieces from their character’s world. With every clue they uncovered, they moved closer to solving the final riddle and reuniting their character with their best friend!

Everyone put their heads together to solve the riddles and showed everyone why the Kangas Community is so strong! With some teamwork, encouragement, and a whole lot of fun, the Kangas can do just about anything!

Staff Shoutout: Celebrating Apple!

This weeks staff shoutout goes to not only an amazing counsellor, but a great role model and one of the kindest people you will ever meet!

Apple sets the bar high, going above and beyond with her campers every day coming up with awesome activities and making sure everyone is having a great day, everyday.

We are so lucky to have Apple as apart of the Kangas family. We love you Apple!

Caregiver Question of the Week

Can I pack extra food for my camper?

Absolutely! As long as it is peanut and nut-free, you are welcome to send extra lunch/snacks for your camper!
