The LITs have now built a strong foundation from which their leadership is blossoming. So, this week the LITs focused on perfecting their leadership styles by working on their professionalism.
The LITs practiced their time management skills, had fake interview practice, and learned about the importance of being prepared.
Throughout the week you could hear the LITs reminding each other to act professionally when they went to their placements. They have had such a successful week, and are ready to take on the world!
Camp was also buzzing with chatter of the LITs awesome work on placement. Each and every one of the LITs have excelled on their placements, and this final week was no different!
The LITs could be seen helping clean up, chatting with campers, playing games, and role modelling for their cabins.
But, when they weren’t on placement the LITs were having fun around camp! They had a blast at archery, made fun shapes at fimo, and sang their hearts out at recording. They were also frequent participants in camp-wide dance parties at schmooze.
The LITs also guest-starred at music fest. Their bravery and confidence shone through. The LITs performed “Little Red Wagon” with the stature of seasoned pros. Another one of our LITs sang a repeat after me song all by herself.
Way to go LITs!
And to say goodbye the LITs had a graduation ceremony that was shared with all of camp! We celebrated the success of the LITs. We are all so proud of you!
A Note from Clementine (LIT Co-Ordinator)
Congratulations on finishing the LIT program! I cannot believe how fast this month went, but I am so glad it was filled with laughter, smiles, some hard work, and camp spirit! I hope the school year goes well, and that we see you back at AV next summer!
We also had two big chair winners! This award is given to campers who demonstrate amazing qualities at camp. These two LITs stood out for their kindness and leadership qualities. Excellent work and congratulations!
We also had a silly banana winner for one of the LITs awesome costume. They dressed up as one of our amazing staff! Awesome work!
LIT Caregiver Question of the Week
“What happens next summer?!”
Great question!
Campers who are in Grade 8 for the 2025-2026 school year:
Grade 8s will repeat the LIT program next summer. We ensure that the program is different for returning LITs to continue on their path of growing and learning as leaders!
Campers who are in Grade 9 for the 2025-2026 school year:
Grade 9s are welcome to repeat the LIT program if they feel they need another year of growth as a leader. Otherwise, Grade 9s can volunteer at camp (and earn volunteer hours towards their high school diploma). Applications will open in January 2026, and guardians on file will receive an email notifying you when it happens!
Our mission is to grow the whole child through the traditional spirit and fun of camp. While your child is with us at Adventure Valley, our leadership team is devoted to developing their social dexterity and emotional intelligence, while amplifying their self confidence.
