Leadership in Training
For campers completing grades 7 & 8
Our Leadership in Training (LIT) program is designed to give our young leaders transferable skills that will benefit them year-round, in a safe and supportive environment. Campers will learn how to work with children ages 4 through 10 years, how to manage a group of campers through communication and leadership skill building, and how to plan and develop awesome camp programs! Through our hands-on learning program, LITs will also develop their abilities in teamwork, collaboration, stress-management, creativity, communication and more!
Daily Schedule
LITs spend the morning in their peer groups. During this time, they are scheduled into camp activities, and have daily Community periods which are workshops and/or lessons to further the skills the group is working on that week.
In the afternoon, LITs attend “Placements”, where they work closely with Adventure Valley specialty and group staff for hands-on learning. As the weeks progress, LITs will be challenged to take on leadership roles in their placements by planning programs and taking a leadership role in the group.
LIT is a four week program. No partial registrations can be accommodated.
Campers repeating the LIT program will be accommodated with further learning opportunities.

Camper Testimonial
“Adventure Valley has been an amazing and memorable experience over the past two summers. Each year was filled with fun activities, supportive counselors, and opportunities to challenge myself while having a great time with friends… The atmosphere is energetic, friendly, and inclusive. Everyone—from the counselors to the campers—supports each other. It’s a place where you can truly be yourself and feel part of a community… Through the leadership programs, I learned teamwork, communication, and problem-solving skills. I also became more confident and responsible, especially when helping younger campers and participating in group activities.”
