Froggies Week 4

Camp spirit was flying high this super week at Adventure Valley! And Froggies were the shining example of superhero campers!

A force of good around camp, the Froggies were true camp heroes! There were so many stories this week of campers committing acts of kindness.

For example, at Beadology, one camper’s necklace broke and his beads fell to the ground. While the counsellor comforted the upset camper, a few of his cabinmates leapt to the ground to collect the beads and exclaimed, “Don’t worry! We’ll help!” The necklace was saved thanks to these campers!

Another heroic moment this week: a camper was a little scared to try a new move in gymnastics. He had never done gymnastics before and everyone else in his cabin made it look so easy. He admitted that he was nervous and a little scared. But after a few deep breaths and encouragement from the rest of the cabin, he finally tried a handstand!

The cabin cheered him on for being brave and trying new things.

Once he realized how fun handstands are, he was eager to try again and again!

When campers weren’t being camp heroes, they were busy having a blast!

At Ribbit Recess this week, the cabins were asked to work together in creating an original superhero. Some of the highlights include: Froggie Girl and Froggie Boy (twin superheroes who share frog-like abilities) as well as Super Potato Man, a hero whose powers include heart and respect.

Afterwards, the campers worked on their psychic abilities; a version of rock, paper, scissors but the goal is to be matching the other person. When campers both selected the same move, they yelled, “PSYCHIC!” The Froggies were asked if this exercise improved their psychic superpowers, the answer was a resounding “yes!”

Staff Celebration Moment

This week, Froggies would like to celebrate Emerald!

Emerald’s good-hearted nature makes her the kind of counsellor that kids know they can turn to whenever they need help or encouragement. She knows her campers like the back of her hand!

When she isn’t leading an activity, she’s fully in it; always playing with the campers. Leading by example with a playful and positive attitude!

Caregiver Question of the Week

Where do I pick up my camper if I need to pick them up early?

Please don’t walk into camp, looking for your camper! Go to the West Parking Lot and wait up at the front. Then give camp a call and we’ll bring the camper directly to you!
