Week 6 may have been a short week, but the Bunnies made the most of every moment! A definite highlight was their drumming session, where they got to try out a variety of unique drums.
The campers had a blast drumming along to songs they loved, dancing and playing their hearts out with the guidance of our amazing drumming specialist. The experience brought smiles to everyone’s faces as the counsellors joined in the fun dancing and drumming with their campers.
This week one Bunnies cabin had a fantastic time decorating puzzle pieces to create a meaningful cabin sign. Each camper painted their own puzzle piece, which their counselors then assembled into a large, colorful sign. This activity beautifully represented the idea that while we are all unique and different, we all fit together as one community at camp!
Watching each cabin bond and make connections has been amazing, as the Bunnies continue to strengthen their sense of belonging and teamwork.
This week during Adventures with Acorn, the Bunnies experienced some exciting Olympic-themed activities. They played balloon volleyball, tried the long jump, ran pool noodle hurdles, and even participated in a relay race!
The campers had a blast cheering each other on in teams and diving into each activity with enthusiasm. It was wonderful to see them working together, encouraging one another, and stepping out of their comfort zones to try new and challenging experiences.
This week, the Bunnies were thrilled to dive into Olympic-themed activities and costumes! We saw sports-themed outfits, along with unique costumes like the Olympic torch and the Olympic rings. We’re excited to announce that a few Bunnies counselors earned Silly Banana charms for their fantastic costumes!
Additionally, we had two Big Chair winners from the Bunnies cabins. The Big Chair awards are given to campers who demonstrate positive qualities like respect, honesty, and responsibility.
Congratulations to these outstanding campers and counselors!
Staff Celebration Moment
This week’s staff celebration moment goes to Otter! Although she just joined the Bunnies team this week, Otter has already made a huge impact. Her patience and kindness were invaluable as she helped new campers adjust to camp life. Otter took the time to sit with them, offering comfort and helping them integrate into the group through conversation and activities. One camper even shared, “Otter is my favorite person to sit with!”
Thank you, Otter, for your dedication and hard work in making every camper feel welcome and included.
Parent Question of the Week
“My camper doesn’t like what is coming up on the menu for lunch. Can I send snacks and/or lunch from home?”
Yes! Please ensure that whatever you send is nut safe.
Warm regards,
Acorn
