Favourite Activity!
This week, our Bunnies campers dove into the exciting world of science with a crazy fun experiment involving cornstarch and water! The activity was a hit as our young scientists mixed the ingredients to create a fascinating non-Newtonian fluid. The campers were amazed to see how the mixture behaved like both a solid and a liquid, sparking curiosity and plenty of giggles.
Our Bunnies had a blast getting hands-on and messy, learning about the wonders of science in a fun and engaging way. It was a fantastic opportunity for them to explore, experiment, and discover together!
Stay tuned for more exciting adventures next week!
Our Community
This week, our Bunnies campers immersed themselves in the vibrant AV Camp community! They joyfully participated in the camp dance each day, bringing everyone together through music and movement. The campers also engaged in a variety of fun schmooze activities, where they made new friends and strengthened their bonds.
One camper shared, “I wanna throw a cup of water at my counsellor on my birthday too!” Another added, “I like schmooze! Dancing with everyone is my favourite thing!” The bunnies really enjoy meeting new friends and seeing all the counsellors on the field each day.
It’s been a great first week filled with connection and camaraderie, and we’re excited to continue fostering this sense of community in the coming weeks!
Fun Unit Activities!
This week, our Bunnies campers had an unforgettable time at the Music Fest with Ariel! They learned fun dances and catchy songs that had everyone singing and moving together. The joy was contagious as the campers showcased their new dance moves and sang together. The fun continued on the schmooze field, where they played exciting parachute games with their cabins. The highlight was the cat and mouse game, which had everyone laughing and cheering as the campers dashed around under the colorful parachute trying to get away from the cat!
Big Chair Awards!
The prestigious “Big Chair” award, given for showing remarkable growth and leadership qualities like teamwork, kindness, and respect, was awarded to Isaac (Bunnies 2) and Miles (Bunnies 1).
Isaac showed a positive attitude, willingness to help others, and consistent display of respect towards both campers and staff. They also had amazing camp spirit and loved doing the camp dance each day!
Miles always let other campers take a turn before him and said kind words to his counsellors and the other campers each day! This made them a role model for everyone at camp.
Congratulations to Miles and Isaac for their outstanding achievements!
Staff Celebration Moment
Flora’s energy, creativity, and dedication have truly made a difference for all our Bunnies campers this week.
Flora led our campers in many fun and engaging cabin huddles, where laughter and joy filled the air. Her ability to connect with each camper and make them feel special is amazing. A bunnies 2 camper said, “Flora is the best! I like playing who stole the cookie from the cookie jar with her!”. She’s always ready with a big smile and a new game or activity to keep everyone entertained and excited.
One of the highlights of the week was the fantastic unit activity that Flora helped plan. It was a fun arts and craft adventure that had all our Bunnies bouncing with excitement with their own cartoon mask based on our camp theme of the week Animation Nation! Flora’s innovative ideas and teamwork with her co-counselors ensured that the activity was a huge success!
