Bunnies Week 2

The Bunnies had an amazing second week of camp, packed with fun and excitement! Each cabin has formed a strong bond through engaging cabin huddle games, special activities planned by their counselors, and camp-wide challenges at Schmooze.

The campers couldn’t get enough of racket rallies time, where they learned the basics of tennis and played fun tennis games with their counselors in teams. Each cabin had the chance to hone their tennis skills with the tennis specialist this week. Watch out for these Bunnies’ swings – they’re on their way to becoming tennis pros in no time!

This week, the Bunnies cabins have perfected their cabin cheers, adding an extra dose of fun and unity as they move around the campgrounds. You could hear Bunnies Three counselor Burmy leading the chant, “Bunnies Three! Who are we?” followed by the enthusiastic response from the campers, “Bunnies Three! We hop with glee!”

These cabin cheers are a fantastic way for campers to build strong bonds with their fellow campers and co-counselors. What better way to head to your next activity than by cheering with your cabin, spreading joy and team spirit all around camp!

This week at Adventures with Acorn, the Bunnies spent a rainy afternoon creatively designing their own flags! Celebrating EuroCup Week, the Bunnies cabins had a blast crafting flags for real countries they knew or inventing their very own nations. The campers enthusiastically shared their knowledge about flags, proudly explaining the colors and images on their favorites. Isabella from Bunnies One excitedly told Acorn, “Acorn, I know what’s on the Canadian flag! It has a maple leaf and it’s red and white.” The Bunnies had so much fun and learned a lot in the process!

This week, we had a triple celebration in Bunnies One, Two and Three! Counselor Polo won a Silly Banana for her concession stand costume. Counselor Burmy won a Silly Banana award for her fantastic Team Germany mascot costume, while Bunnies Two camper Owen also snagged a Silly Banana for his creative England Flag costume, made even more special by coordinating with his sister Ellie in the Kangas!  Congratulations to Owen, Polo, and Burmy for their incredible camp spirit and outstanding costumes!

The Big Chair award, given to campers who display positive traits and make camp a wonderful place, had four winners this week from the Bunnies cabins: Jacob, Helga, and, Zachary. Congratulations to these outstanding role models!

Staff Celebration Moment

This week’s staff celebration moment goes to Malibu, who has shown exceptional care and concern for all her campers in Bunnies Two. Malibu’s dedication to inclusion was evident as she danced with campers at Schmooze, ensuring that everyone had a partner and felt included. She also led her cabin in many exciting games of Poison Dart, filling the air with laughter and smiles. A Bunnies 2 camper said, “Malibu, I want to play again! Can I pleasssseee be the detective this time?”

Thank you, Malibu, for creating such a joyful and inclusive environment for our Bunnies!

Parent Question of the Week

“Does programming still happen outdoors if it is raining?”

We try our best to stay outdoors as much as possible. Some activities will be moved indoors when it rains, but we ask that all caregivers please send their campers with full outdoor wear on days when it is supposed to rain (Ex. raincoat, splash pants, hat, umbrella, rainboots, and sweaters).

Have a great weekend!
