The Bunnies kept their camp spirit high during Week 5! The Bunnies dove into crazy science activities with enthusiasm, stacking cups and balancing little bears on popsicle sticks. Working together in pairs and groups, they explored different strategies and learned a lot along the way.
The specialist made Crazy Science a highlight for the campers with interactive experiments and challenges. From hands-on experiments to exciting scientific challenges the camper were engaged every time!
The Bunnies campers inclusivity truly shined this week during junior multi-sport. When a new camper was feeling a bit nervous and unsure about joining in, a group of Bunnies campers noticed and decided to help.
One of them approached the new camper with a big smile and said, “You can join our team! It’s fun, I promise!” The other campers chimed in with encouraging words and warm smiles, making the camper feel welcomed. Soon enough, the new camper was not only participating but laughing and having a great time with their new friends!
This week during Adventures with Acorn, the Bunnies enjoyed an exciting mix of science and crafting on the Schmooze field. The highlight was making “elephant toothpaste” together. The campers eagerly watched as their experiment produced a big stream of purple bubbles, erupting from the bottle to everyone’s delight!
In preparation for AVDC Circus-themed Friday, the Bunnies got creative by coloring and decorating a huge “Bunny Circus” sign. Using paint and markers, they worked together to create a vibrant and festive banner that perfectly captured the spirit of the circus.
Circus-themed week brought out some of the most fun and creative costumes we’ve seen! Campers and counselors alike got imaginative, dressing up as elephants, bears, seals, and clowns. We are thrilled to announce that we had three Silly Banana winners from the Bunnies cabins this week!
The Big Chair award, which acknowledges campers who exemplify positive qualities such as respect, kindness, and empathy, also had two winners from the Bunnies cabins. You could hear the other campers in their cabins cheering their names as they ran to the top of the hill to accept their awards!
Congratulations to these outstanding counselors and campers!
Staff Celebration Moment
This week’s staff celebration moment goes to Zero! Zero planned a fantastic Counsellor Initiated Activity (CIA) where the campers had a blast running around camp looking for clues on a special scavenger hunt! Her skills truly stand out in her interactions with the campers, as she knows all their interests and engages them in meaningful conversations whenever she can. The campers are always excited to see Zero each morning, especially on Fridays when her creativity shines through her homemade costumes.
Thank you, Zero, for making camp such a special place for your campers!
Parent Question of the Week
“If my camper is in extended care and I want to pick them up during regular pick up time, where can I find them?”
If your camper is registered for extended care, you can find them on the playground at the back of the school.
Best regards,
Acorn
