Bunnies Week 8

The Bunnies had a fantastic final week of camp for summer 2024! A highlight was the racket rallies, where the tennis specialist introduced creative challenges that had the Bunnies running around the gym with their friends while learning about tennis and the equipment used to play.

It was a perfect way to wrap up a summer filled with making friends, trying new activities, and creating unforgettable memories. The Bunnies truly made the most of every moment this summer!

The Bunnies love playing cabin huddle games with their friends and counselors each day. This week, a highlight was watching a camper comfort her friend who had gotten out in a game, saying, “It’s okay. You can join back in the next round! I’m sure we will start a new game soon. Don’t worry!” Getting out in games can be hard, but with their counselors’ gentle reminders, the Bunnies are learning how to support one another through big feelings during their cabin huddles.

This week during Adventures with Acorn, the Bunnies cabins gathered to enjoy a reading of “Blackflies” by Robert Munsch. Just as the story ended, a surprise clue slipped out of the book, sparking an exciting scavenger hunt around camp! The campers raced together, collecting clues that led them back to their cabins, where they were greeted with high fives and cheers. The Bunnies had a fantastic time working as a team on this unexpected adventure!

The final theme of the summer, AVDC Forever, brought out the creativity in both campers and counselors! Many decided to swap roles by dressing up as each other, adding extra fun to the week’s activities. To cap off an amazing summer, the Bunnies cabins celebrated three Silly Banana winners. What a fantastic way to end the season!

The Big Chair Award recognizes campers who demonstrate qualities like respect, empathy, and honesty. Unfortunately this week, there were no campers from the Bunnies cabins who earned this special honor.

Staff Celebration Moment

Our final staff celebration moment of the summer goes to Polo! As a dedicated counselor in Bunnies One all summer long, Polo has gotten to know each camper so well that she can anticipate their needs and plan fun activities tailored just for them.

Whether leading games or joining in on the action, Polo is always there to role model and make every moment enjoyable. The campers especially love their end-of-day cabin huddles with Polo, often exclaiming how much fun they have with her. Thank you, Polo, for making this summer unforgettable!
