Can you believe it’s already Week 4? Time sure flies when you’re swimming in fun! The Bunnies dove headfirst into this week’s Under the Sea theme, and it was nothing short of a splash-tacular adventure. From creative crafts to upbeat activities and joyful singalongs, the campers were busy making waves—and memories—every single day.
This week, our Bunnies explored a treasure trove of activities! In Arts and Crafts, they listened to Little Red Riding Hood and made adorable (and slightly toothy) wolf puppets. During Crazy Science, they painted cups and used pipe cleaners to craft their own colorful under-the-sea creatures—from spiky jellyfish to twisty octopuses! They also got moving in martial arts, found their rhythm in drumming, stretched out with peaceful yoga, and let their creativity shine in recording. Oh—and did we mention the slime? Because yes, there was slime. And yes, it was awesome.
This week during our Bunny unit time, Hop Hop Hooray, we dove deep into an exciting under-the-sea riddle scavenger hunt! Campers were given clues to help them identify different ocean animals and characters—there were 16 hidden around camp in total. Once they solved a riddle, they had to go searching to find the matching image, which led them to a puzzle piece.
With the support of their counsellors and lots of teamwork, the campers worked together to solve every riddle and collect every piece. Their hard work paid off when they completed four full puzzles, each revealing a different sea creature. It was a great blend of thinking, movement, and collaboration—and every Bunny played a part in the success.
Schmooze this week made waves with excitement! On Monday, we kicked things off with a balloon stomp during Minute-to-Win-It, and let’s just say—those balloons didn’t stand a chance. On Tuesday, campers tested their trivia skills with under-the-sea-themed questions. The competition was intense, but one of the Kanga cabins reeled in the win. Wednesday was the grand finale of our July Wednesday Warrior challenge, and who better to represent the Bunnies than our very own Pickles? She faced off against Hippo in five epic challenges: a riddle, a math puzzle, one-handed beading, carrying an LIT across the field, and balloon-popping precision. With the Bunnies cheering her on, Pickles claimed the title of July 2025 Wednesday Warrior Champion! On Thursday, counsellors formed two superstar squads for our Thursday Thingy Lip Sync Battle. Team Arrow brought the sparkle and sass with a Mamma Mia performance to Money, Money, Money, while Team Otter rocked the field with Best Song Ever by One Direction. After much cheering, dancing, and dramatic microphone drops, Team Otter took home the coveted Dabbing Dinos! We ended the week on a celebratory note during Friday’s Schmooze, where the energy was off the charts! We handed out four Silly Bananas to Bunnies who went above and beyond with their jaw-some under-the-sea costumes. We also awarded two Big Chairs to campers who showed kindness, teamwork, and sunny attitudes all week long.
We had even more reasons to celebrate—with three Bunny birthdays this week! The whole camp came together to sing, cheer, and make our birthday Bunnies feel extra special. And if that wasn’t exciting enough, we turned up the fun with Cup in the face, where campers got to soak some of their favourite staff and even take aim with a pie to the face. Safe to say, it was the perfect mix of giggles, goofiness, and good times.
To cap it all off, we gathered with the Froggies for our beloved Music Fest, where Ariel led us through a sea of sing-along classics. Campers belted out Fred the Moose, Down by the Bay, Jellyfish, and of course, Bobbing Up and Down Like This. It was the perfect way to wrap up a week of friendship and fun.
This week’s community moments melted our hearts like popsicles in the sun. One new Bunny arrived feeling nervous on their first day, and a returning camper gave them a big hug, held their hand, and whispered, “This is the best camp ever—we’re going to have so much fun today!” Later in the week during Beadology, when a camper dropped her bracelet and the beads scattered everywhere, another camper immediately jumped in to help—and then helped her remake the whole thing. These moments are what make the Bunny unit so special. Moments like these show the true heart of the Bunny unit; campers lifting each other up, making friendships, and creating a safe, joyful space for everyone.
Staff Celebration Moment
This week, we’re giving a standing ovation to our incredible Bunny counsellor, Pickles! Pickles made a splash from the moment she joined our unit this week, and it feels like she’s been with the bunnies forever. Whether she’s leading a game, comforting a nervous camper, or making the whole group laugh with her quirky jokes and electric energy, Pickles has a magical way of making every Bunny feel safe, seen, and special.
She’s the kind of counsellor who always notices when a camper needs an extra hand to hold, a boost of confidence, or just someone to talk to—and she shows up every time with patience, care, and a huge smile. She’s flexible, dependable, and endlessly positive. As her “Sea Pickle” costume reminded us today, she’s kind of a big dill, and we’re so lucky to have her in our Bunny crew.
Caregiver Question of the Week
Q: What do I do if I need to pick up my camper early?
A: If you know what time you would like to pick up your camper, please email me at bunnies@adventurevalley.ca or the camp office at camp@adventurevalley.ca and let us know what time you would like to pick them up. We will then have them ready and waiting for you with a counsellor in the West parking lot (marked with the orange Adventure Valley flags). If you are early or arranging for a last minute pickup, please call the camp office (905-901-4862) and a staff member will bring your camper out to you! Please note that we have an early pickup blackout period from 3:15-3:50.
As we wave goodbye to the campers who are finishing their sessions, we want to thank you for being a part of our Bunny family—we’ll miss you and hope to see you back soon! And to our new friends hopping in next week: get ready for more laughter, adventure, and bunny-tastic memories ahead.
Warm regards,
Frizzle
