Kangas Week 1

It has been a fun and exciting first week to our 2023 camp season. Our Kangas have enjoyed making new friends, getting to know their counselors, and bonding with their cabin-mates. Our staff have been excited to kick off the first week of camp with loads of exciting activities. 

If Kangas weren’t having a ball with our Sand & Surf water activities, they were adding their own creative twist to Flounder, the friendly fish in Cartooning. You could sometimes catch (if you are fast enough!) our Kangas running around looking for hidden treasure during Lounging with Lizard.

Some of our Kanga groups got to try out trampoline shoes with Kangoo Kids! Kangas were jumping for joy around the gym, having a blast.

During a drumming workshop with special guest Crash Rhythm, some Kanga cabins got to jam out to awesome tunes! Other groups giggled their way through an awesome game of soccer with special guest X-Movement. Arts & crafts had Kangas featuring their creative skills by creating some colourful fishes to celebrate our theme of the week, Under the Sea.

Kangas blasted some awesome tunes during recording, where they bonded over their favourite songs and sang along to some popping tunes. 

During Schmooze this week, Sir Forgot-a-lot, Puddles the Water Wizard and Sheriff Shade made an appearance. Our Kangas giggled while learning about the importance of sun safety, drinking lots of water and taking shade breaks during the day.

With Tuesday Trivia, Wednesday Warrior and Thursday Thingys, we had loads of fun learning the camp dance and cheering our favourite chant, the AVDC cheer. With new friendships, some awesome costumes and loads of fun, we put an end to Week 1 of the 2023 camp season. We can’t wait to see new and returning faces next week!
