Welcome Back!
What a “toon-tastic” start to the 2024 season at Adventure Valley! Our first week at camp was a colourful whirlwind of creativity, fun and community spirit. There’s something truly magical about camp–it’s more than just a place; it’s a community where lifelong memories are made, friendships are forged, and new skills are discovered. At Adventure Valley, we believe in the power of camp to bring out the best in everyone. This week, Kangas were encouraged to explore their creativity, embrace new challenges, and support one another in a nurturing and fun environment. This week, as we kicked off our summer with the Animation Nation theme, we showed the incredible strength of our community in action. From the laughter shared during activities to the cheers that echoed through the Schmooze field, the sense of unity and camaraderie was palpable. Together, we’re building a summer full of joy, growth and unforgettable moments.
Favourite Activities!
Our young picassos and Da Vincis channeled their inner cartoonists to create their masterpieces. From painting to drawing, the creativity was “off the charts” in creating their octopi. We even had a special “toon-tastic” day where campers designed their very own cartoon characters in their awesome flipbooks!
Our Kangoo Kids session had everyone “bouncing off the walls” with excitement. Our campers strapped on their Kangoo boots and hopped around like animated kangaroos, showing off their best jumps and moves. It was a hopping good time, and we saw some future acrobats in the making!
To balance out our high-energy activities, we embraced the zen side of animation with yoga sessions. Our campers practiced their “downward dogs”and “sun salutations,” finding their inner calm and focusing on mindfulness. It was the perfect way to “stretch” our bodies and minds.
The highlight of the week was seeing the strong sense of community blossom among our campers. Whether they were helping each other with crafts, cheering on their friends in archery, finding a rhythm together in drumming or dancing our way through Schmooze, the spirit of togetherness was truly inspiring.
Schmooze!
During Schmooze this week, we had a blast answering trivia questions and a big shout out to K3 for winning this week’s trivia. We had a blast learning the camp dance and cheering our hearts out. We ended our Schmooze session this week with some well deserving Kangas winning a Big Chair. We’re thrilled to see such a fantastic start to the season and can’t wait to dive in more adventures in the coming weeks.
Staff Celebration Moment: Celebrating Boo!
This week, we want to shine the spotlight on Boo, whose hard work and boundless energy have made a significant impact on our camp community. Boo’s charisma and enthusiasm are infectious, captivating the hearts of all the kids. Her creative and engaging activities are always a hit, making every moment at camp exciting and memorable. We’re incredibly grateful to have Boo on our team, bringing joy and fun to Adventure Valley every day! We loved how she spread her camp cheer by creating the K3 chant, which you can hear throughout the camp anything their cabin walks by!
A massive shoutout to our amazing staff, setting the tone for an amazing summer!
