This week in LIT land we focused on leadership and confidence. The LITs kicked off the week by extending the time they spent on placement in the afternoons. While the task may have seemed daunting at first, it was no match for the leadership power of the LITs. Throughout the week the LITs could be found taking initiative to lead an activity or leading their placement group around camp.
The LITs leadership prowess was seen camp-wide when they hosted Thursday’s schmooze. The LITs worked together to plan an epic event. After much careful consideration, they decided on a three-legged relay race… the twist being that it was LITs vs. leadership team.
The leadership team prevailed in the race, but the LITs still got to cup them in the face with water! In the end, everyone had a blast.
When the LITs weren’t busy crushing it as leaders on their placements or planning an epic race for all of camp to watch, they were hard at work creating their rock band. This rock band consisted of a speaker, piano, three guitars, a drummer, three singers, and their band manager. Not only does this band rock, but it was worthy of a silly banana! A silly banana is awarded to campers who have awesome costumes, and every LIT won one this week!
What made the LIT band really special was that they took initiative to plan the costume, and then collaborated to create it!
Aside from our big silly banana win, two LITs were awarded a big chair! A big chair is awarded to campers who demonstrate awesome qualities throughout the week.
Congratulations LITs!
