LITs Week 4

This week the LITs focused on building their professionalism. This required them to suit up and head back to the LIT theatre… where they came up with their own skits on professionalism including what to do in various scenarios as well as what not to do!

Aside from flexing their acting chops, the LITs could be seen helping out around camp. This marked their third week of placement, and in the spirit of professionalism the LITs practiced time management skills. The LITs managed their own time while on placement and aced the challenge they were always on time for their activity!

The group also stepped in as special guest starts during this week’s lip sync battle! It was an epic performance, and an even better time.

This week was the last one of the July LIT program, so to celebrate the successes of the LITs we had a Terrific Treat Thursday. To commemorate our awesome community the LITs treated themselves to beadology where they made matching friendship bracelets. After that, the LITs sang their hearts out in recording. We had a blast at archery where we watched a super staff showdown between Clementine and Sizzle as well as Cheddar and Snoopy. When we weren’t at an activity the LITs were celebrating their month with an ice cream party!

At the end of the week the LITs had a graduation ceremony. All of camp celebrated the success and growth of the LITs when we recognized each of them at schmooze.

The LITs had also planned an epic surprise for Clementine. They got together to organize a “cup in the face” for their unit head. A “cup in the face” is a cup of water campers get to throw in the staff member of their choice’s face, usually reserved for birthdays. But! The LITs graduating was deemed a worthy occasion for a cup in the face… or nine!  It was so much fun.

We had three big chair winners this week in the land of the LITs. A big chair is awarded to a camper who demonstrates awesome qualities that we value at camp like team-work, perseverance, and courage.

We also had one silly banana winner. Silly bananas are awarded to campers with crazy cool costumes.

Way to go LITs!

LIT Caregiver Question of the Week

“What happens next summer?!”

Great question!

Campers who are in Grade 8 for the 2025-2026 school year:

Grade 8s will repeat the LIT program next summer. We ensure that the program is different for returning LITs to continue on their path of growing and learning as leaders!

Campers who are in Grade 9 for the 2025-2026 school year:

Grade 9s are welcome to repeat the LIT program if they feel they need another year of growth as a leader. Otherwise, Grade 9s can volunteer at camp (and earn volunteer hours towards their high school diploma). Applications will open in January 2026, and guardians on file will receive an email notifying you when it happens!

A Note from Clementine (LIT Co-Ordinator)

Congratulations on a fantastic four weeks LITs! I could not be more proud of each and every one of you. You have all grown into responsible leaders. Have a great rest of your summer! See you next year.
