What a joyful first week it has been in the Bunnies! One of the most memorable moments came during Friday’s Music Fest, when all of the Bunnies and Froggies gathered together to sing camp songs. Watching our Bunnies sing loudly and proudly alongside Ariel was a wonderful reminder of just how much can change in only a few days. Many campers arrived at camp feeling shy, speaking very little and unsure of what to expect. By the end of the week, those same campers were walking confidently into the gym, heading straight for their new friends, joining in cheers, and singing with incredible camp spirit. We finished Music Fest with our “We Are AV” chant, and the energy radiating from the Bunnies was something truly special. Throughout the week, our B1 and B2 cabins proudly chanted their own cabin cheers, creating a strong sense of belonging and showing just how quickly this group has become a caring, enthusiastic community.
Our specialist activities were filled with creativity, movement, and plenty of excitement. In Martial Arts with Clementine, we became ultimate Ninjas and learned how to count to 5 in Japanese. During Crazy Science with Malibu, the Bunnies explored colour mixing and loved discovering what happened when different colours came together. X Sports brought both Bunny groups together for a variety of games and quickly became a favourite, giving campers even more opportunities to play and cheer each other on. Dance with Ballet had everyone smiling as campers moved, danced, and built confidence through music. In celebration of our Birthday Bonanza theme, campers also created imaginative birthday cupcakes using playdough and craft materials. One especially heartwarming moment came when B1 proudly delivered their finished cupcakes to Lizard, our Froggies Unit Head, to celebrate her birthday. The campers were so excited to share their creations and show off all of their hard work. If you’re looking to continue the camp conversation at home, try asking your camper: “What colours did you mix in Crazy Science?” or “How did you decorate your birthday cupcake?”
Our unit programming this week centered around our Birthday Bonanza theme, and the Bunnies threw a very special birthday party for Bailey the Bear! Campers designed colourful invitations, created birthday crowns, and prepared for Bailey’s big celebration with incredible imagination and care. They proudly showed Bailey their crowns and invitations, asked thoughtful questions like, “What’s Bailey’s favourite colour?” and many eagerly asked if they could give Bailey a hug. It was wonderful to watch the kindness and creativity shine through as campers treated Bailey like a very important guest. In B1, campers also spent the week practicing how to become “Super Stealthy Ninjas” while transitioning between activities. Burmy surprised everyone with a Ninja Graduation Ceremony, where each camper earned a special ninja badge. The excitement and pride on their faces as they graduated and showed off their badges was unforgettable and a wonderful celebration of all they had learned together.
While the Bunnies didn’t take home any Schmooze competition victories this week, we are incredibly proud to celebrate Tess from B1, who earned the Big Chair! Tess was recognized for her kindness, willingness to try new activities, and the encouragement she showed her fellow Bunnies throughout the week. Congratulations, Tess, on being such a positive role model for your cabin!
Staff Celebration Moment
Our Staff Shout-Out this week goes to Snoopy from B2! Snoopy’s thoughtfulness and genuine care for every camper help make B2 feel like a welcoming home away from home. She takes the time to get to know each Bunny on a personal level, learning what makes them laugh, what helps them feel comfortable, and how to encourage them throughout the day. One of the highlights for many campers is Snoopy’s end-of-day story time, a calm and cozy tradition that gives everyone a chance to wind down together before heading home. Those quiet moments have quickly become a favourite for the Bunnies, and we’re so grateful for the warmth, kindness, and care that Snoopy brings to her cabin every day. B2 is incredibly lucky to have her!
