This week was filled with so many moments of kindness, encouragement, and imagination that truly captured what makes our Bunny community so special. One of the most memorable moments came during Big Chair presentations. As Layla’s name was called, one Bunny excitedly began chanting, “Layla! Layla!” Before long, nearly every Bunny had joined in, filling the space with cheers and celebration. Watching the entire unit rally around one of their friends was such a joyful reminder that our campers celebrate one another’s successes as if they were their own. That same spirit carried throughout the week, through many acts of kindness and encouragement.
Our specialist activities gave campers plenty of opportunities to explore, create, and discover. In Science with Malibu, the Bunnies experimented with invisible ink, creating secret designs that magically appeared. During Nature with Shimmer, campers made their own bird feeders, carefully putting them together while learning about the birds that might visit. We hope you’ll ask your Bunny, “What did you create with your invisible ink?” and “Where should we put your new bird feeder?” We’d love for these conversations to continue at home! Throughout the week, many of our counsellor-led activities also encouraged creativity, including making their very own monsters. The Bunnies embraced the opportunity to let their imaginations run wild, creating wonderfully unique creatures that reflected just how creative this group can be.
During Unit Time, the Bunnies entered the world of Monsters University! The adventure began when mysterious letters appeared, inviting our campers to train as the next generation of monsters. The excitement of discovering each new letter had everyone eager to find out what challenge would come next. Campers designed their own monster creations, tested their agility through a monster obstacle course, and practiced their best monster dance moves during an energetic game of freeze dance. Every challenge brought laughter, teamwork, and plenty of silly monster fun. At the end of the week, Monsters University proudly declared that every single Bunny had passed their training and officially graduated as the best monsters ever! The pride and excitement on their faces as they completed each mission made this Hop Hop Horray one to remember.
Although we didn’t have any Schmooze victories this week, the Bunnies reminded us that kindness is worth celebrating all on its own. During Thursday Thingy, campers watched an epic water balloon dodgeball game between the Leadership Team and our LITs. When asked which team they were cheering for, the Bunnies answered, “We’re cheering for everyone!” It was a genuine and heartwarming response that perfectly reflected the supportive nature of this group. We’d also like to congratulate our Big Chair recipients this week: Layla (B1) and Aisha (B3). Both campers were recognized for the kindness, helpfulness, and personal growth they demonstrated throughout the week. We are so proud of the positive examples they continue to set for our Bunny community.
Staff Celebration Moment
This week’s staff spotlight shines on Fizz. Fizz has an incredible ability to make every camper feel seen, heard, and valued. Whether she’s joining campers in play, listening with genuine interest to every story they have to tell, or encouraging them to step outside their comfort zones, she creates an environment where children feel safe to be themselves. Her engaging story times, endless enthusiasm, and consistently kind nature help build a cabin community where campers know they belong. The care she brings to every interaction is felt by everyone around her, and we’re so grateful to have her helping make camp such a positive place for our Bunnies.
Caregiver Question of the Week
How does the Tuck shop work?
On a Unit designated Tuck Day, counsellors receive a tuck order form with their attendance. If a child has money in their account, counsellors ask campers to choose from a list of items. Our office packs the tuck and counsellors hand it out at afternoon snacktime!
