It was the first week of the LIT program and it was an absolutely terrific time! The LITs were focused on building community, confidence and their communication skills throughout the week. They spent time learning about the different types of communication, forming bonds, and trying new things! Many hours were spent in the LIT Theatre where the LITs performed many skits and played many epic rounds of the improv game “A Day at The.” In just one week the LITs have formed their own inside jokes, made new friends, and grown as new leaders!
Aside from their communication workshops, the LITs put on an epic lip sync performance. After deliberating on a song, the group settled on “Umbrella”. They got straight to work choreographing their masterpiece. With some LITs starring in the performance, and the others directing the show together they were able to wow all of camp! Aside from how awesome their performance was, the LITs showed that they have begun to develop incredible leadership skills by taking initiative to put on this performance. In just a few hours, their collaboration efforts earned them a Dabbing Dino, which is a rare Radtag that can only be earned from performing a lip sync!
:There were three Big Chair winners from the land of the LITs! A Big Chair is awarded to campers who demonstrate awesome qualities that fall under the two pillars of AV: Building Community and Developing a Growth Mindset. These three LITs in particular demonstrated leadership, kindness, respect, responsibility, and growth mindsets. Way to go LITs!
The land of the LITs also saw one Silly Banana winner. A Silly Banana is awarded to campers who have awesome costumes on Friday dress-up days. Our Silly Banana winner made an incredible costume complete with face paint to match! Congratulations 🙂
We had 5 LITs return for their 5th summer at AV! These campers earned their footsteps Radtag, which is a special charm that can only be earned. Congratulations to these 5 LITs, we are so grateful to have you in the AV community.
A Note From Clementine (LIT Co-Ordinator)
I am so proud of each and every LIT. You all tried new things, made new friends, and I can see how much you’ve grown already. I cannot wait to see you guys rock your first week of placement. Have a great weekend!
