In the second week of the LIT program the group focused on building counselling and cooperation skills. The LITs learned to cooperate through epic games such as “The Helium Stick” and “Human Knot”. While at first they thought the challenge was too large for them, they proved that with a little cooperation no challenge is too hard to tackle! With the weather moving camp inside, the LITs also proved how flexible they can be when things change. In just a week the LITs have blossomed. They have proven to be strong leaders who are resilient and positive.
Aside from their counselling and cooperation skills, the LITs participated in an epic Schmooze Monday Minute to Win it activity. The activity put the LITs cooperation skills to the test as they had to work together to cross the field. Luckily for the LITs, their hard work paid off and they won Monday’s schmooze activity! Woohoo! Way to go LITs!
This week the Land of the LITs saw four Big Chair winners! A Big Chair is awarded to campers who demonstrate awesome qualities that fall under the two pillars of AV which are building community and growth mindset. Our four Big Chair LITs demonstrated incredible leadership, adaptability, courage, respect, and kindness. Congratulations, we are so proud of all of you!
Another award given out at camp is the Silly Banana, which is given to campers who come to camp on dress-up day with an awesome costume. The Land of the LITs had one silly banana winner this week. Amazing work! Thank you for bringing the camp spirit alive.
A Note from Clementine (LIT Co-Ordinator)
Wow, what an incredible week it has been. I am so impressed with how responsible all of our LITs have been while on placement. I am so proud of the way they kept an open mind and stayed positive with the changes in programming due to weather. I am so excited for another great week!
Have a wonderful weekend, see you Monday.
