The final week LIT program July 2026 focused on professionalism. LITs honed their leadership and counselling skills through their final week of placement. Most notably, the LITs put together a country-themed performance for Thursday’s schmooze event with Fox! Throughout the week the group could be found in the LIT Valley hard at work practicing not only their singing but also their line dancing. With Fox on guitar, the LITs took care of setting up, singing, and dancing. Their hard work was well-worth it as everyone in camp was amazed by the group’s courage for putting on the performance. They were true professionals the whole way through. Way to lead by example LITs!
However, with this being the LITs final week of camp, a lot of room was saved for having fun! Thursday Fun-Day is a prime example of all the shenanigans the LITs got up to. The group started the morning with a trip to the creek on site. They explored the nature inside and around the creek, spotting a crawfish and some chipmunks. After that the LITs enjoyed some fierce rounds of Gaga Ball. After two or three (or maybe even four) slices of garlic bread at lunch, the LITs had a blast playing dodgeball at Kangoo Kids. They finished off their day with a trip to recording, and a slime-making workshop. That’s not all… on their final day of camp the LITs were surprised with a special treat for all their amazing work they had done on placement.
By Friday, the LITs were ready to graduate. AV celebrated the LITs at schmooze where they received their custom clipboards and graduation certificates. While a few tears were shed while saying goodbye, the AV community could not have been more proud of the wonderful young leaders the LITs have become. The LITs July 2026 program was closed off with one final cabin group cheer and a group celebration!
The Land of the LITs had two Big Chair winners as well! A Big Chair is awarded to campers who demonstrate awesome qualities that fall under the two pillars of AV which are building community and growth mindset. Both of this week’s Big Chair winners demonstrated incredible growth mindsets; they have developed responsibility, honesty, and leadership over their four weeks with us and we were excited to celebrate their growth. Congratulations!
A Note from Clementine
What an amazing four weeks it has been LITs. I am so proud of each and every one of you, and I hope that you are proud of yourselves. You have proven not only can you do hard things, but you can do them with confidence! Thank you for all the smiles, laughs, jokes, and fun this month. I wish you all an amazing August, and I hope to see you all back at AV next year.
