Happy first week of camp, Tigers! We are so happy to see many faces this week, both new and returning, and we cannot wait for the summer of fun ahead. The Tigers were especially looking forward to the fun this week, immediately becoming involved in all the activities camp has to offer. Recording was a fan favourite amongst all Tigers, allowing campers to sing their hearts out to their favourite songs with their friends while their cabin mates and counsellors sang along.
Recording was only the beginning of the community that was created this week at camp. The Tigers became closer as the week progressed, supporting each other at various activities, such as cheering on their cabin mates at Archery and complimenting eachother’s awesome costumes on Friday! The Tigers community was especially evident during Thursday’s period of Roaring Rallies, our Unit-Wide Program that all cabins participate in. This week for Animation Nation, Tiger cabins brainstormed, drew, and coloured an animated sidekick for Marvel and pitched why they think their character was the coolest. Each cabin creating their own poster with their sidekick helped to foster feelings of community and inclusivity, as each camper added to the creation of their sidekick, making it the creation of the collective group and being influenced by each and every camper!
This Friday was our first Big Chair and Silly Banana awarding of the summer! The “Silly Banana” Award goes to a camper with a super creative costume, and the “Big Chair” Award goes to a camper who displays exceptional camp values and qualities throughout the week. Tigers was home to one Silly Banana and two Big Chair winners, and we are so proud of our campers for all their creativity and dedication to making camp an amazing place for their cabin mates and others.
The Tigers would like to highlight our counsellor, Mojo. Mojo always makes sure her campers are included, staying safe, and having the most fun at every single activity. She is also always ready for a dance party at schmooze, and cheers of “Mojo, please be my partner for the camp dance!” can be heard across the Schmooze Field. Mojo’s dedication to making sure her campers are having the time of their lives is greatly appreciated throughout the Tigers unit.
