Happy Week 7 Kangas!
It’s hard to that we are already closing out our second last week at AV for the summer, but the fun is far from over!
We Are The Champions was the perfect theme for the Kanags this week, they dove into every activity as a challenge they were more than prepared to conquer. The sense of community was strong as they cheered each other on with encouraging words and claps.
Our Kangas embodied sportsmanship, team work, and lots of fun, proving to us they are all AV champs!
One of the highlights of the week, or maybe even the whole summer, was Tye Dye day!
On Thursday the Kangas got to get their hands dirty and let their creativity soar, designing themselves some pretty rad bandanas!
It was an excellent demonstration of the Kangas skills for patience and sharing. I have never seen so many focused faces as the artists were hard at work!
Costume day on Friday was another awesome show of creativity, and of course everyone’s favourite champions! It might be the only place you’ll ever see two Toronto Maple Leafs and a Montreal Canadiens getting together for a friendly game of Gaga Ball!
Camp was running wild with hockey players, basketball superstars, and golf pros galore! The Kangas loved getting to bring some of their hobbies to camp and show off their favourite team.
The theme really brought everyone together, especially in one of my favourite moments this week. One of our awesome Kangas brought their hockey card collection to show and tell with their friends, and quickly the whole cabin was sitting in a circle to listen.
It was such a treat to see so many friends bonding over a shared hobby!
Staff Celebration: Shouting Out Rodeo!
This week the Kanags Staff Shoutout goes to the very dedicated, passionate, and horse-loving counsellor RODEO!!
Every moment Rodeo spends with her campers is a special one. Her dedication and enthusiasm for providing her campers with the best experience is what makes Rodeo so special.
Thank you Rodeo for every thing you do!
Caregiver Question of the Week
Q: Can I pick up my camper early at 3:30?
A: No – We have a blackout period between 3:15 and 3:55. If you would like to pick up your camper early, please arrive before 3:15. When you get to the West parking lot (marked by the orange flags), give us a call and we’ll bring your camper out to you.
