This summer is going by so quickly, but I guess time flies when you’re having fun!
The Froggies had a blast at camp this week with so many fun and new activities!
Drumming was done with a twist; trading in the buckets for bongos.
And Martial Arts with Clementine was a big hit (and kick)! Not only did the Froggies do well with the physical aspect of Martial Arts, but they also excelled with the positivity and respect that the activity calls for.
It’s that kind of attitude that makes Froggies the place to be!
It’s no surprise that this week, we had three Big Chair winners in the Froggies Unit. Honestly, it was hard to narrow it down to just three as every cabin had a story where all the campers showed incredible camp spirit.
For example, there was one cabin doing Racquet Rallies and the goal was to balance a tennis ball on their racquet while walking to the other side of the gym. When one camper would finish, they would run back to the other campers who were struggling and cheered them on every step of the way. In their minds, the goal wasn’t accomplished unless they did it all together.
In addition to Big Chair winners, Froggies also had a Silly Banana winner who went all out with this week’s theme of AV Circus!
This week at Ribbit Recess, the Froggies were ready for the big top! First they all auditioned to join the circus using some sick dance moves. The talent was electric and all groups were accepted on the spot! We celebrated by creating our own big top tent and having a little party.
The Froggies spent the rest of the morning playing carnival games. This included a particular game where all campers were rewarded stickers, however one lucky camper from each cabin won the opportunity to throw a cup of water at their Unit Head, Ducky’s, face.
Despite Ducky being generally liked by all of her campers, they were all VERY excited to throw water at her.
While only one camper from each cabin got the chance, all the Froggies cheered at the spectacle.
Camp spirit was high this week and every day felt like a celebration with the Froggies. Despite the heat, the Froggies’ love for camp never wilted.
Thank you Froggies for another fantastic week, we hope you all enjoy the long weekend! We will try to enjoy it as well, but it’ll be hard knowing that we have to wait an extra day to see you all again!
Staff Celebration Moment
Like the Froggies, Shrek is new to camp this year. It’s hard to imagine one without the other. Some campers are starting believe that Shrek lives at camp.
Everything Shrek does, she does for her campers.
Her dedication to creative programming and camper care is admirable and impressive. The Froggies unit is very lucky to have such an awesome counsellor! There was one camper who asked, “If Shrek is always with Froggies, can I stay a Froggy forever?”
Parent Question of the Week
If my camper is in extended care and I want to pick them up during regular pick up time, where can I find them?
If your camper is registered for extended care, you can find them on the playground!
