Tigers Week 7

What a week it has been in Tigers! One of the moments that stood out most this week happened during Gaga Ball when the Tigers shared the pit with the Kangas. Instead of keeping the game to themselves, our Tigers welcomed the younger campers in, helped them learn how to play, and made sure they felt like part of the game. It was such a great example of the community we want to build at camp: campers looking out for one another, making room for others, and having fun together. We also saw some great perseverance this week during archery. One camper started out having a tough time hitting the bullseye, but rather than giving up, they kept trying and working on their aim. Eventually, they landed that bullseye! The excitement when they finally got it was a great reminder that sometimes the best part is sticking with something until you get there.

Our specialist activities and CYOA periods kept everyone busy. Campers took part in Human Battleship with Malibu, a water balloon fight with Zigzag, and European Handball with Pylon. The water balloon fight was especially memorable when campers managed to surprise Sizzle with one final water balloon outside the gym! In Science, campers explored how earthquakes work and got to think about what happens beneath the Earth’s surface. They also spent time playing Gaga Ball, working on their archery skills, and even recorded themselves singing the national anthem. There was plenty of energy, laughter, and a few unexpected surprises along the way!

For our unit program this week, the Tigers became space detectives! Campers took part in a planet-themed escape room scavenger hunt where they had to collect clues around camp and work together to figure out which planet they had. Along the way, they had to decode hints, use Morse code, and piece together information to solve the mystery. What really stood out was how well the campers worked together throughout the challenge. They listened to the rules, stayed focused, and worked as a team to solve the clues. Once the mystery was solved, campers got to celebrate by making their own special AV buttons. It was a fun way to combine teamwork, problem-solving, and a little bit of mystery!

There were lots of reasons to celebrate during Schmooze this week! We had a surprise lip-sync battle during Thursday Thingy, with Zigzag getting right into the action, earning her first Dabbing Dino Tag. Congratulations to our 3-Year Tag recipients: Cameron, Audrey, Mateo, Quinn, Li, Jack, Cooper, and Harrison, and our 5-Year Tag recipients: Elizabeth, Luka, Alek, Savannah, and Matthew. A big congratulations as well to our Silly Banana winners: Savannah, Max, Max, Maxwell, Bridget, and Lauren, and our Big Chair winners: Elizabeth and Elaina. These milestones are such a special part of camp and a great reminder of the memories and traditions that campers build year after year.

Staff Celebration Moment: Zigzag!

Our staff celebration this week goes to Zigzag! Zigzag brings so much energy to camp and always seems to have a smile on her face. This week’s surprise lip-sync battle was the perfect example. When her campers came running after her and chased her up the hill (see picture) to get her to participate, Zigzag was a great sport and jumped right into it and absolutely killed it! She is always ready to have fun with her campers, even when they catch her off guard, and that enthusiasm makes camp a more fun place for everyone around her.

Caregiver Question of the Week

Can you please clarify the time window for drop off?

Drop Off takes place from 8:45AM – 9:15AM.

Our Kiss and Ride drop off begins at 8:45AM. Families who arrive earlier are welcome to wait inside or outside their vehicle. For those wanting earlier drop off, morning care is available from 8:00AM!

Our Kiss and Ride drop off ends promptly at 9:15AM. If you are dropping off your camper later than 9:15AM, please park in the FRONT parking lot (the one with all the columns) and give us a call. We will come collect your child! Please do not walk your child across the West parking lot if you arrive after 9:15AM. Once our staff remove our stanchion walkway, the space belongs to the bike camp.
