Daisy: Bunnies Unit Head (She/Her)

Adventure Valley is thrilled to welcome 🌼 DAISY 🌼 to our team as our Bunnies Unit Head.  She is no stranger to the world of camp, having attended and worked at overnight camp for many summers. With her background in camp settings and experience working at a preschool, Daisy has a deep understanding of the unique needs and interests of our youngest campers.

Daisy is committed to ensuring that your child’s experience at AV is nothing short of extraordinary. With her energetic and nurturing approach, she strives to create a safe and inclusive environment where campers can grow, develop new skills and forge lifelong friendships. She is a Sociology Con-Ed student at Queen’s University, with plans to become an elementary school teacher.

When she is not at camp, you can find Daisy baking delicious treats or exploring her love for the outdoors. A former dancer, she cannot wait to dance her heart our at Schmooze this summer!

Lizard: Froggies Unit Head (She/Her)

🦎 LIZARD🦎 is thrilled to return for her fifth summer at AVDC, and is thrilled to return to the Froggies Unit this summer. Lizard is known around camp for her contagious “We’ve got this!” spirit! In fact, after her first summer at camp, Lizard received a special award at staff banquet for her unwavering resilience.

When she’s not at camp, Lizard can be found immersing herself in her passion for the arts. She’s halfway done teacher’s college, determined to become an amazing high school teacher, inspiring students with her love of theatre and history.

But that’s not all! Lizard is also a talented musician who can play multiple instruments. Her favourite challenge is mastering new and tricky songs on her trusty guitar. And when she’s not strumming away, you’ll likely catch her experimenting in the kitchen, testing out delicious new recipes!

Opera: Kangas Unit Head (She/Her)

🎶 OPERA 🎶 is so excited to spend her first summer at Adventure Valley, leading our Kangas unit! She’s worked at day camps and schools for many years and can’t wait to experience an AVDC Summer.

Opera is a Con-Ed student at York University, with the goal of becoming a music teacher. She is a talented singer, competing at the OMFA for classical performance. She is even booked to perform at Roy Thompson Hall in the fall!

When Opera isn’t singing or teaching, she is hanging out with her horse Strawberry Shortcake. That’s right – Opera is multi-talented, and has recently placed in the top 3 equestrians at the provincial university level. We can’t wait to see what other talents we will discover at camp!

Sizzle: Tigers Unit Head (She/her)

🤩SIZZLE🤩 is fired up for her third summer at AVDC, returning this year as the (roaring) Tigers Unit Head! She is dedicated to helping every Tiger make legendary memories, form new friendships, and leave the camp feeling more confident!

Sizzle has completed her first year of teacher’s college at Brock University, with the ultimate goal to become an elementary teacher!

Outside of camp, Sizzle is a devoted animal lover. She’s always learning about dogs, spending time with furry friends, and even visiting farms whenever possible. She is also a diehard sports fan and a proud (and resilient!) supporter of the Toronto Maple Leafs. When she’s not cheering on her team, you can find her enjoying nature, whether she is relaxing in the sun, going on hikes, or simply soaking up the fresh air!

Clementine: LIT Co-ordinator(She/Her)

🍊CLEMENTINE🍊 is delighted to be returning to Adventure Valley for her third summer, reprising her role as LIT Co-ordinator! At age 4, she began attending summer camp. While the first day of camp was met with some nerves, she immediately fell in love with the camp magic!

Clementine is known for her enthusiasm (especially for playing games) and for planning and executing our awesome Leadership in Training program. This summer, she has 11 of her LIT graduates from Summers 2024 and 2025 volunteering at camp!

When she is not at camp, you’ll still find Clementine doing activities outside! She loves spending her time camping, hiking, and running. She also enjoys reading and is always listening to music. Clementine is also a major sports fan and will definitely be keeping up with the Toronto Blue Jays this summer. She has finished her first year in law school at the University of Ottawa.

Spooky: Office Administrator (She/Her)

👻SPOOKY👻 returns to camp for her TENTH summer reprising her role as our Office Administrator, where she serves as the friendly face and voice of Adventure Valley.

Spooky is known for her lightning-fast work pace; she can accomplish a full day’s tasks in a mere twenty-five minutes. It’s no wonder she has become the go-to person for quick solutions and timely responses. Whether you need help over the phone or through email, Spooky’s expertise and dedication will ensure that you receive the assistance you require promptly.

In Summer 2022, Spooky won the Lifetime Achievement Award recognizing her unwavering commitment and invaluable contributions to the AVDC community during her then six years at camp. Heading into her tenth summer, nothing has changed – she’s still the one we all rely on!

Spooky has completed her first year of Teacher’s College at Brock University and looks forward to teaching elementary school students one day soon!

Ducky: First Aid Officer and Program Director (She/her)

🦆 DUCKY 🦆 is thrilled to return to camp, this time in a new role of First Aid Officer and Program Director. Ducky has worked at Adventure Valley in many capacities: as a Unit Head in both Tigers and Froggies, and as a programming rockstar.

An elementary school teacher, Ducky works in the Peel District School Board as a Grade 3/4 teacher. These lucky students get to experience Ducky’s extraordinary energy and creativity each and every day.

Ducky is excited for her new challenge this year as our First Aid Officer. Camp families can rest easy knowing that their children are well taken care of by this awesome camp veteran!
